WHY NOT!
the Yankees biggest need is a big Right handed power hitter @ 6'6" 220 that big enough with his big bat?
, he can play first so you know he can play the infield! and he plays RF so you know he can throw!
as posted in the ny times sports section
He had a clubhouse attendant do his laundry as soon as he arrived Friday, and by yesterday he found himself rounding the bases while the score of “The Natural” played in the background.
“It’s a crazy experience,” Duncan said.
In the dugout, as the fans stood for Duncan, Torre turned to Rodriguez. “I said to Alex, You’re not the guy anymore,” Torre said.

Eric Duncan is not the answer. He has too many holes in his swing. He had trouble even hitting his own weight in the minors. A better solution is Bronson Sardinha.I'm a very big Yankee fan. I went to see the Yankees play at Tropicana Field in St.Petersburg, Florida from September 25 to 27, 2008. Inthe game which the Devil Rays Scott Kazmir was pitching in, Sardinha got his first major league hit. He then quickly stole second. He scored on Jose Molina's RBI hit. By the way, I hope Joe Girardi manufacture runs the way Joe Torre did in 1996, 1998, 1999, and 2000. Sardinha also made two great catches in right field. One was a line drive at the wall tailing over his head. The second was a drive he caught before it landed in the first row of the right field foul line. The ball jumps off of this kids' bat. He can also jump and has great range. He reads the ball well off the bat. Sardinha has played shortstop, third base, center field, and right field in the minors. Honestly, I'd like to see Duncan do it as his name sounds great for marketing purposes. I heard that Sardinha's parents named him after their favorite movie star, Charles Bronson.Yes Red Sox fans will make fun of his last name. However this kid seems tough and I think he'll play more like a Bronson than a canned fish. Now as for A-rod, the team that signs him will file for bankruptcy. If the base floor starting bid is $350 million, what is the ceiling going to be? Don't forget that commissioner Bud Selig bought the Seattle Pilots in March of 1970 and moved them to Milwaukee. They then became the Brewers. To replace A-rod's power, Bobby Abreu must drive the ball instead of just making contact. Don't forget he hit a record 41 bombs during the all-star home run derby in Detroit. One of the blasts went 517-feet. Abreu is humble in the Roger Maris mode. The Yankees must not trade for Miguel Cabrera. He becomes a free agent after 2008. The Marlins are a very cheap team.
