iS JETER STiLL HUNGRY?

"UPDATED OCT. 23, 2007- BECONING ON WORLD SERIES EVE
WITH YOUR COMMENTARY BELOW"

I dont know? But to me Derek Jeter Mr.Yankee-Mr.Clutch does NOT look like the Jeter of old of younger years- hungry , determined like he did in 1996-2000 .

I know it isn't popular to critisize "our" Captain, but if you were watching the ALDS against the Indians he had a big sh*t eating grin top of the ninth, with the Yankees about to be eliminated like he hadn't a care in the world. OK OK , I know it isn't that serious it isn't life or death "it's just a game" but show some kind of determination!!!!'

People will Blame Joe "Yankees manager Joe Torre" or even grossly overpaid A-Rod,
""than again everybody in MLB is grossly overpaid to me!""
Yes they'll blame A-ROD who was CLUTCH, along side Posdada whom also was clutch all year long! , Or they'll even blame the pitching staff or choices , or they'll say the ball didn't bounce our way or we got "flea-bitten" Or it was an Omen --> Joba getting attacked by insects on Jacob's Field mound throwing a wild pitch , that cost us a game

But from what, I seen all year long regaudless of the numbers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jeter DID NOT HAVE A TYPICAL JETER YEAR from April to October.
Not only the multiple double plays he hit into in the divisional series with runners in scoring position! But all year long!
Is Jeter really so much better than Detroits Carlos Guillén who is very hungry or Khalil Greene

Now I'm not saying we have to get rid of Jeter.
YES he has lost a step in his range.
It's Just I'm concerned I didn't see that fire. I saw back in the "95 to 01" years. That fire I have seen in the past? and that is bothersome!

SHOULD JOE GO OR STAY?

TO BE CONTINUED.....
YOU MEAN TO TELL ME IT TOOK THIS BUNCH THAT LONG TO DECIDE THE FATE OF MLB'S MOST WINNIGEST MANAGER OVER THE LAST 15 YEARS? AND...............You mean to tell me the reason the yankees didn't make the world series or win it in 7 years is all Joe Torre's fault? These younger underpaid players are hungrier! Take for instance--> "Cleveland"
It was proven with the Yankee's themselves when they bought up the farm "Joba Chamberlain, Melky Cabrera , Shellson Duncan etc.etc." which basically saved there season!

You also read reports about Derek Jeter's wild weekend in South Beach in the N.Y. Daily News. It makes you wonder is he still "hungry" like he was back in 1997 when it was only about baseball?

.............here is some intresting commentry on the entire situation buy other journalist -->

The Yankees need to start anew. As much as I like "Joe" it's time for change "Tony LaRussa, Joe Giradi" The curse of the Mattingly???, I dont know, but the Yankees have many bright "more than prospect young talent" we seen how Joba and Phillip Hughes, Melky Cabrera ingnited youth and enery into a lifeless , sluggish and at times slow team. They need to go in a new direction.

And I fully trust Cashman and the Steinbrenner's to usher in this "new era" There was a time when Jeter and Williams, Posada, "Mo" and Pettite were young! And that was when they were winning championships!

Randy Levine said everyone connected with the Yankees was to blame in part for the collapse of the team in this years playoffs. This is why Torre's contract offer was incentive laden. When does Levine the Steinbrenners and Cashman give up some of their money? Will the contract for the new manager be incentive laden as well? How about the free agents? Mariano- a reduction in salary for blown saves and games lost.Posada- base salary plus incentives for hr's,rbi's and ba. Back to Torre- Yes he was the highest paid manager but as a % of the team's total payroll not out of line. We're talking here about a team worth close to 2 Billion $'s with the YES network.
