WHATS WRONG WITH PHIL HUGHES?
Did the Yankees overevaluate Hughes, Kennedy and Cano? Where would they be right now if these pitchers who clearly have growing pains would have been even just mediocre and not God awful?
They would be in 1st place that's where
----------------------------------------
Phil Hughes
W-L 0-4 ERA 9.00 K 13 Walks 13 WHIP 2.14
Ian Kennedy
W-L 0-2 ERA 8.37 K 16 Walks 20 WHIP 2.03
----------------------------------------
Even if they cut those stats in half @ this early point into the season give Hughes one more win, one less lose and cut his and Kennedy's era in half they would be tied for 1st place and not 2 games out like they are @ this point.
These guys are afraid to challenge hitter throw it over the plate. And with "Hughes's" stuff this shouldn't be?
I'm sure one day Phil Hughes will be a good number #2 or #3 starter consistant 15 to 16 game winner 3.00 era, And Kennedy will be around alot of years as a mop up man or 5th starter, but did we over evaluated them both?
I mean but c'mon they're NOT Johan Santana, Erik Bedard are they in that league?
And Robbie Cano can he get his head together in big spots or is he all potetial cant deliever in the big spot???
anyways;
This cant go on! these guys have to go down to the minors and bring up Alan Horne when he's healthy again or Chase Wright who's been lights out in AA ball. But knowing the Yankees they'll bring up Kei Igwaya they have to much $$$ invested in him :-(
